Describe your students’ organization in 3 sentences:
Our Association was created on the 1st of April 2011 by 5 physical therapy students from the University of Tartu. By now we have 152 members an we have organized 6 seminars with different topics. On the last seminar in April 13th we had over 100 people participating and there will be another one in september with the topic of low back pain.
For the first time we organized a 3-day summer session together with physical therapy students from Latvia which included educational lessons, different activities and getting new contacts. Also we plan to organize small events throughout the year in giving out information on health topics to local people.
What are the goals of your students’ organization?
Our goals are:
1. To connect all the physical therapy students in Estonia
2. To create a network and share contacts between physical therapists in Estonia
3.To give the opportunity to take courses in addition to the education in physical therapy schools given by EFÜS
4. To share information about different courses in the field of phsyical therapy in Estonia and abroad via e-mail and website
5. To promote the possibilities of physiotherapy in the society
How many PT students are there within the organization?
At the moment there are 152 members.
Communication about ECPTS within your country:
Not too much yet. We introduced ECPTS on the seminar in April and now sent out e-mails to all the members about the meeting of ECPTS that is held in Poland.
