PT educational system:
Access to the PT course, is number programmed and consists in a entrance test with a unique date on the national territory, with regard to public universities. As for private universities, the test is carried out only  few days later, always on a single date in the country.
The number of exams scheduled during the course of study varies according to the regulations of the graduate course.
The final examination has the value of State Exam qualifying  for the profession.
The qualification allows access to the Master of Science Programme of the Rehabilitation Sciences Health Professions Class (Article 6, paragraph 1 of the Ministerial Decree, 8 January 2009),  to  1° level Master courses and other courses.
To date, Physiotherapy Bachelor course is active according to the DM 270/04 and its implementing decrees.

How many schools/ universities do you have? 
We have about 20 to 30 public univerisities in all Italy. Each one can include more than one town pole. There are also some private universities.

Describe your students’ organization in 3 sentences: 

It is a form of aggregation among all students in Italian physiotherapy universities, a network able to offer confront moments and to provide information tools supporting a broader view for the future european and international rehabilitation professionals horizon.

What are the goals of your students’ organization? 
Our goals are:
-> To create a network and better comunication/cooperation between all italian PT students
-> To promote education, values and the physical therapy profession
-> To create an association which rappresents all italian students for the ECPTS, encouraging sharing and moving to other countries, providing support on european educational programs, internships and work conditions abroad
-> To empower collaboration with professional organizations, educational institutions and all the other realities that work actively in the physhiotherapic field.

How many PT students are there within the organization? 
For the moment we are the only members, but soon we will hold national election in order to have rappresentants and members from the whole country

Communication about ECPTS within your country:
We spoke for the first time about ECPTS few months ago with an article, written by Ermanno Bertoldi, published on the national magazine of AIFI, the first italian physical therapist association.

What is the entry level for working as a physiotherapist in your country?
Currently the level is state examination after a three years vocational education.

Do you offer English-speaking courses or summerschools for PTs/ PT-students? 
No
